Time For Wine

Time For Wine

This cute design is a great combination of two different illustrations. I like the play on words with the hour glass and the wine glass inside, I think that it is a funny way to depict the saying. I would create the hour glass and the wine glass in Illustrator. But I would add the distressing that is over the picture in Photoshop with the help of filters and noise.

Nutty Squirrel

This logo for a gelato store is funny and creative. Usually I would find the font of this design childish, but I think it works with the overall feeling of the piece. I believe that the squirrel and ice cream cone could be created using the pen tool in Illustrator. I think that the design is clever and the squirrel fits perfectly on top of the ice cream cone, posing as gelato.

Ro & Co

I love the font used for this business logo. I think that the thin font is very clean and crisp, while the circular font around it makes it less formal. The ‘R’ leading into the ampersand is a creative use of text while still allowing it to be legible. I would create this design using Illustrator with the type on path tool and the line tool. The light brown background also allows the design to be less formal and create a sense of warmth.

Eight

Eight

I don’t know what this design was used for but I instantly found it interesting. I think that it is so cool that the designer broke up different parts of the number eight in order to create this design. Although the ‘T’ in eight isn’t what we traditional would recognize, the other letters allow us to see the meaning. This design could be created in Illustrator using the Pathfinder tool in order to exclude different parts of the eight.

Tiffany and Co.

Tiffany and Co.

Not the traditional Tiffany and Company logo, this design takes a fresh new approach on the old logo. I think that the design is very interesting with all of the fonts interlocking and on top of one another. Although this design is a fresh new approach on the old logo, it might be illegible when shrunk down to a smaller size. This design could have been created in Illustrator with the help of the pathfinder tool and the text tool.

Denver Biscuit Co.

I love the design for this little bakery. The simple design and clean nature of the logo is right up my alley. The rolling pin could be created in Illustrator using the pen tool. The two lines framing the word ‘biscuit’ emphasize it so the viewer instantly recognizes what the company does. I think that this creative design is a great reflection on the company and puts forth a fun atmosphere to customers.

Shelter

This design meant for shelters for the homeless provides a good design while still getting their point across. The home that makes the H could be created in Illustrator by manipulating the text. I believe that the element in the home is subtle enough whereas it doesn’t overpower or make light of this serious logo. I think that the white background and the red lettering also gives a sense of urgency to the viewer.

Bird Rock Coffee Roasters

Bird Rock Coffee Roasters

I think that this bag of coffee is a surprisingly creative design for the subject. The bright color of the bag and the cartoon graphic provides an overall great design for this bag. The bus on the bag could be created in Illustrator using the pen tool and shapes. I believe that this coffee packaging stands out among the other coffee brands because of their strong design and packaging.

Scissors

Scissors

This design is a cute way to incorporate type into common objects. This design could easily be created in Illustrator using the pen tool for the scissor blades. I think that the artist did a great job choosing colors because if there wasn’t a difference between the scissor blades and the G, then you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the two. The background gives a light and cheerful backdrop for this design

Greek

Greek

I think this design does a great job incorporating different greek letters in order to form the letter ‘G’. I love the simple radial gradient in the background because it doesn’t take away from the piece. I dont know what this piece was used for but I think that the artist did a good job getting all of the letters to form a precise form. I think that it would be best to use Illustrator to make this piece using the pen tool, text, and a gradient.
